Baby & Company

Baby & Company, a Seattle icon will be closing their doors at the end of September. Baby @ Company has been a beautiful fashion retail store on the corner of 1st and Virginia in the Pike Place Market and Belltown area. They have been open for 44 years. In the 80s, I worked at Raison d’être, a restaurant on Virginia between 1st and 2nd. When I got my paycheck, I would shop at Baby & Company. I still recall a lavender jacket that I purchased there. After life and many moves, I lost the jacket. However, I still remember it which says something after 35+ years! The paintings of the lovely Lady Krishna had been in the dressing rooms for many months. She is a style icon herself so it is fitting that her work would be featured in the store. These images were from a window display at Baby & Company taken during a street photography shoot in April 2018.

Homage

I like to take props into the Hastings Building. I love the photographer, Francesca Woodman and think she would appreciate the abandoned building with its debris, random items, peeling wallpaper, etc. I decided to take her book with me for the photo shoot. Here is the result…..

More Hastings Building

The Hastings Building continues to fascinate me. So much that is aging. Wallpaper, paint, Victorian details. It is finally Spring so I had to bring some irises for this visit. You will see more later!
